Primary Year Two

6-7 year old
6 – 7 year olds
Key facts: Children will copy the behaviour of adults, so if they take risks, children will too.

Learning to cross the road safely helps develop a better understanding of roads and traffic.
In any car crash, a loose child will be thrown about inside the vehicle, injuring themselves and others.

Action points:

Gradually, let your child take the lead, showing you where to stand, what to do and when to cross.

In the car, always strap them in properly and drive safely.

Walk with your child and set a good example.

Talk about what you see, what things are and what to do.
