New road surface for the A40 Golden Valley next month
Gloucestershire County Council will resurface the A40 Golden Valley between the M5 and Arle Court working overnight from 6th July until 16th July.
To cause as little disruption as possible to road users, the improvements will be carried out from 8pm to 6am each night when a full road closure will be in place.
As part of the work 1.5km of new road surface will be laid.
Frequent road users can expect to see signs erected on the Golden Valley from 6th July
The closure will be in place from Monday 6th July to Thursday 16th July and traffic will be diverted via the B4063 Cheltenham Road and Gloucester Road.
Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flood said, “As part of our proactive maintenance programme we’ll be resurfacing both lanes on both sides of the dual carriageway to give a brand new surface for motorists. I’d like to thank people in advance for their patience while we get this work done.”
Cllr Simon Wheeler county councillor for Benhall and Up Hatherley, said: “The Golden Valley is a popular dual carriageway connecting Gloucester and Cheltenham. I’m pleased to see this work taking place overnight so that disruption can be kept to a minimum. I’m sure road users will notice the difference when it’s complete.”
