Young Riders

Mopeds can give young people independence and may be the only form of affordable transport available to them. But with only basic training they may not be fully aware of the dangers they face in being a new road user, and ‘Getting it right (PDF)’.

We can offer free advice, guidance and practical training to help them build their knowledge and skills to reduce the risk of being involved in a crash.

15-19 Years Old

For riders of machines 50-125cc, aged between 15-19 years old, we offer a free on-road riding assessment with rider tips and advice on how to reduce their risk on a regularly used route. Our motorcycle safety coordinator will meet the rider at a pre-arranged time and ride with them giving feedback and advice at the end of the ride.

We also offer bespoke classroom sessions in schools, colleges or in the workplace, to find out more contact roadsafety@gloucestershire.gov.uk.
