(MiDAS) Minibus Driver Assessment Scheme
What is it?
Gloucestershire County Council has adopted the Minibus Driver Assessment Scheme (MiDAS) as its standard for staff driver training. MiDAS is nationally recognised and is managed by the Community Transport Association.
The course offers comprehensive training that covers the transportation of wheelchair users. Training involves classroom work combined with a driving assessment.
There are practical assessments in the use of vehicle tail lifts and the safe restraining of wheelchairs and their users.
Who is it for?
Anyone who drives a minibus and transports passengers.
How much does it cost?
- Standard Training – £82
- Accessible Training – £123
- Refresher Standard Training – £60
- Refresher Accessible Training – £90
- Wheelchair Clamping Training – £30
Basic 1hour Minibus Assessment (not MiDAS) – £30
