Road Safety Fact sheets - click here

Welcome to the website of the Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnership.

The British weather is unpredictable. Bad weather can strike suddenly and severely so it is best to stay off the road. But, if you must drive, make sure you are prepared for the conditions. Plan your journey; check local and national forecasts, tell someone what time you expect to arrive, pack warm clothes, food, boots, a torch, and a spade in snowy conditions. Clear windows and mirrors completely before you set off, and carry a screen scraper and de-icer. Most importantly, adjust your driving to suit the conditions: hail, heavy snow and rain reduce visibility, use dipped headlights, reduce your speed, anticipate the actions of others, and be prepared to allow extra time to slow down and stop.
