Safety Cameras

Image for Post #3 The Partnership operate a number of fixed site speed cameras and red traffic light cameras countywide. In addition, we have three mobile enforcement vehicles operating at over 60 sites across the county. The Partnership works both with and within communities to make our roads safer for everyone. Rider Improvement Days

Image for Post #3 In Partnership with the Somerset and the West of England Road Safety Partnerships, we are offering motorcyclists the opportunity to experience the thrill of riding on a race track while gaining essential skills and advice from expert tutors. The day, hosted by Castle Combe Race Circuit, costs just £99 per rider and there is only one remaining dates in 2010: Wednesday 15th September. Places are limited to 60 riders per day so book early to avoid disappointment.   Read more...

Speed Awareness Courses

Image for Post #3 Speed, or the inappropriate use of speed, is a factor in a significant percentage of road traffic incidents. The greater the speed involved the more serious the incident is likely to be. The National Speed Awareness Scheme has been launched in Gloucestershire as an alternative to prosecution for some speeding offences within an agreed threshold. It will allow offenders who admit to speeding to be offered a course in the area of their choice, providing the Force in question has adopted the National Scheme arrangements.   Read more...
